As we turn the calender from 08 to 09 it is that time of year again where we start to hatch plans for the next year festivities. The first on our board that has become an annual event for some of us, it is our Frostbite trip. In years past we have stayed near the Nantahala in some cabins on the side of a mountain. We have always had a good time and dined on some excellent food! While the place of stay and where to fish is up for debate, the food should be more of the same. The fishing will always be hit or miss due to weather but the fellers that make this trip are some of the best dad gum boys there are. So with that said, let us decide upon which weekend the brotherhood of the fly shall gather. Remember as always, pick the date that works best, but also be sure to post other dates that will work as well. Most of the time some one usually gets left out due to conflict and this is the best way of helping us avoid leaving some one out. This weekend is open to all members and friends. Here is a shortcut to where the discussion about location is taking place..... tnrockyraccoon.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=gettogether&action=display&thread=2460&page=1Petey

I couldn't help myself so I went ahead and voted. Since Momma works every other weekend, I went ahead and put down the best date for me. I am also pretty wide open the 6,7 & 8 of each month. The other two I might be able to pull off but I will have to work the baby sitter network. Petey

Petey; I voted not far behind ya. Going with the 20th,21st, andthe22nd. I stayed away from the 6th,7th,and 8th because that is the weekend that the NGTO crowd is usually up there, and I imagine that new trophy water will look good to them as well. With the numbers of anglers that they will generate that will make for an over sized winter fishing crowd Even spread out over an area that sized. The weekend of Valentines could possibly exponentially increase the number of divorced anglers on this board, so I didn't even look at that choice Plus the SEFF board usually has a get together that weekend The last weekend is OK , but there are some North carolina streams that are closed to fishing in March, so I backed off of that one as well. ...............Tentwing

I have Drew's lacrosse games on the 21st and 28th so the 6th or the 14th works better for me......

Its hard for me to imagine a get together without ya Dick, but I had to vote against your son's game. The first of any month is impossible for me to get away from the office.

I had to cast my vote for 20, 21 and 22 also. I would like to do it the weekend of the 13th to take advantage of the legal holiday on the 16th, but as Tentwing mentioned "the divorce rate would definately go up on this board if we were all fishing on Valentine's Day". I will do my best to make any date work. I am looking forward to it. Chad.

Checking the schedule has me free either weekend , though I plugged in the 20th on the survey before i relized that - but then again, avoiding another group "competing" for the same water, (it was hard enough out there what with all the swimmin' wild piggies ) it may be best for the latter - I'd hate to have to brush up on my stream side etiquette ;D but as always, its whatever the majority decides...

Sounds good. Just about any weekend works for me. Broke my hand during the Bare Knuckle Apartment Boxing Match Finals sponsored by Natural Light.... I also got a new camera I can't wait to use on the stream.

TW, I am starting to think all of those that are going to vote have. I am of the opinion that it is safe to set the date for the 20, 21 & 22. We can go ahead and start sign-ups and locate a place to stay. Does anybody have any short-cuts to some cabins near Raven Fork that we can check out. I did do some research on KOA and they have several cabins available that weekend, they have two available on the river. One that sleeps 4 and one that sleeps 6. The one that sleeps 6 is 256 for the entire weekend. The one that sleeps 4 is 150 dollars for the entire weekend. Not bad fare to be right on the water. Here is a link to their site. koa.com/where/nc/33173/Petey

Sean; I think your right about the voting, and the KOA cabins look like a very good option. What do you think maybe we should set up a sign up thread , so we will have an idea about numbers for tha set of dates.??............ That way we can see if we need both cabins ?? ....T-Dub
