While the one I own is a couple of years older than the new version, they are close to being the same. The new ones are a little more appealing to the eye, and the chest pockets look to be a little more form fitting.
I have been very happy with my chest pack. I like the fact that it has plenty of cargo room in the rear for lunch, a couple of extra fly boxes, a spare reel or spool and a water bladder. If need be, a raincoat can be attached to the cargo straps on the back. The pack has enough pockets to store all the gear that is needed and has two zip down fly benches. It also has two built in zingers for scissors and hemo's. The front breast pockets contain tippet dispensers, and small storage for lead shot, extra sink or flotant, and strike indicators. The inside pockets have stick-on velcro for the back of said fly boxes so when pockets are unzipped your fly box doesn't fall out. There is not a more sinking feeling than watching a fly box full of flies drift down the river into oblivion, or some other lucky souls possesion. There is also an elastic mesh storage pocket in each zip down fly bench for leaders, keys, or what ever else you want stowed away.
I have now owned my version for going on 3 years and have had zero complaints. Not tears, rips, bad threading, bad zippers nothing at all. I have belly crawled, bush whacked and just about gone near swimming with it on and it has stood the test of time. William Joseph does have a life time warranty, but I don't see myself in need of using it anytime soon.
I rate this chest pack as a Royal Wulff.
Here is another persons review of the same pack...
