I broke a TFO rod because of carelessness on my part. Shipped it to TFO in Dallas on a Friday and had a replacement on my doorstep the following Wednesday. Can't beat that for service!

Wow, that is awesome. It would be nice if Scott Fly Rods would watch what they do and copy it as far as customer service goes. That kind of turn around and service will definitely play into my consideration when I buy another rod. Petey

Glad to hear TFO is super strong customer service. I bought one a couple months ago and so far love it.
I did break a St.Croix last year, was also my fault. St.Croix also had a new rod to me in exceptional time.

Bigga -- I've also broken a St Croix!! That dang limb just wouldn't let go of my fly! St Croix service was good, but it took them over a week to get me a replacement. Not bad, though, considering that it costs $10 to replace a St Croix and $25 to replace a TFO.

$10-25 dosent seem like much. Considering we did get some good use from them before we broke them. Also considering mine was nearly $200. Dont get me wrong, not looking to break more rods but the waranties are great.

Gee, Elkman, I don't consider a little over a week a long time to wait on a broken rod replacement. Let TFO get a little deeper into the game and I'll bet they'll be the same. They're fresh meat, of course they're going to pride themselves on quick CS.
I've been very satisfied with St. Croix CS.

A week to get back a broken rod sounds like pretty sweet service to me. I busted Miss Cheryl's Sage 590 SP and got it back in about 14 days, and I was happy with that. What really impressed me was that I busted it again a few years later, after Sage had discontinued the SP series ; They still replaced it with a brand new 590 SP , even though they didnt make or market that particular rod anymore.

Didn't mean to imply that I was unhappy with St Croix's turnaround to replace the broken rod. I was very pleased. ;D Guess I just couldn't believe how quickly TFO got me a replacement. But, you're right, RacerX, they're still relatively new and probably not getting swamped with broken rod replacement requests yet.

Yep Bigga; Twice; On the Nantahala, and on the same pool, and in pretty much the same way. I busted that puppy bad too. ...I fell ; my right hand went between two rocks ,and I snapped the rod off at just above the cork and just above the reel seat. Both times the rod broke my fall enough to keep me from probably breaking my hand. Needless to say I am no longer allowed to touch her Sage. .....................Tentwing
