I recently bought another Ross to replace a San Miguel that seems to have mysteriously disapeared. The replacement is the Vision series that replaced the SM's. This reel is even better than the SM's IMO. Butter smooth drag and very light. I highsticked for about 3 hours and didn't get tired of holding it up. It's also a slim profile reel with big fish stopping ability. I eagerly give it a Royal Wulff rating. Ross is discontinuing this reel very soon so if you're interested I wouldn't beat around the bush.
Next is the new Rio Nymph Fly Line. This line has the strike indicator tip built in. It's designed for heavy weighted flies but I found that it works lighter flies close-up pretty darn good. It loads the rod at close ranges very well. The line I have is the WF5F Camo with the orange tip. The tip sticks out like a sore thumb so detecting strikes was even easier than normal. Very good casting line too, it shoots line very well. I don't recommend this line for the smoother water. It's ideal for the swifter water in the Smokies, Hiwassee, Watauga, and South Holston. I consider it to be the top choice for highsticking or bottom ticking nymph rigs from a boat. I give this line a Royal Wulff as well!
Tentwing, Hugh, you guys would enjoy this line very much!

Rusty; Sounds like a couple of winners. The reel must be sweet to be smoother than the San Migiel. Miss Cheryl's SM is one of my all time favorites. Sorry to hear about your missing one. And the new line sounds like just the ticket for a "visually impaired" knuckle dragging lead slinger like myself. Thanks for the 411,......... Tentwing
