We turning the corner and heading down the home stretch. It appears Riverman will once again put his Low Country Boil on the menu. Weather is suppose to warm from where it is to the mid to upper 60's. There is some rain possibilities, but it is Spring and a group trip... did you really think we would have a clear weekend. Plus Riverman is coming, he always brings the rain! Everybody don't forget to pack their Fly Tying Materials, their best flies, rain jackets and stories. Usually we fend for ourselves for breakfast and lunch. If you guys want to put together a group breakfast on Saturday and Sunday speak up. I am also working on putting together our Friday night dinner. There was a possible rumor of a fish fry, but I am still trying to track that down. If that doesn't happen, I encourage everybody to bring their favorite grilling meat and we will fire up the grill. If anybody has any questions speak up. Don't forget you will need a valid Tennessee or North Carolina fishing license to fish the Park. A trout stamp is not required (Thanks Robb). You can fish either side of the Park with either license, both are not required but one or the other is. Looking forward to it guys! Petey

I don't think you need a trout stamp to fish waters in the park. If you plan to fish for trout outside of the GSMNP this year, then the stamp is necessary.
Looking forward to the pow wow. Of course work sprung a last minute deal for Saturday AM, but I should be able to get on the water by no later than noon Saturday.

I am confirming a dinner for one of the nights. As long as hot peanut oil won't hurt ya it''ll be good. This cold weather has put a damper on the fish. I will just have another suprise in the bag.
While i'm here who is planning on going up friday? I would like to fish on friday.
Riverman, when can you head? carpool?
Who else is heading early?

Trey and Marshall, if everybody shows up who signed up, which if they don't I will hunt them down to the ends of the earth, count on 12 people each night. To those attending the event don't forget to bring a few extra dollars to give these gentleman some cash for the food they have bought. You guys will not be disappointed. We are on countdown with only 4 days to go. I will be coming up Friday, hopefully in the AM. Things in my life are bit upside down right now considering I haven't been able to live in my house for the last 2 weeks. But as of right now I have plans coming up and getting us checked in Friday around noon. Petey

Well guys,
Looks like I'm a definate for not attending.
I had a feeling that work would have me busy for the first weekend in April and I was right.....Looking like I will be on the water in Reliance Starting Thursday and running through the weekend.
So I hope you guys have a great time and as always, I sure wish I could make it......but being a fishing guide means you have to take the work when it comes.
Somebody needs to drink some bourbon for me! ;D

Guys just a reminder there is a map under the Cabin Reserved thread. I just called and was told the cabin was the 1st road on the right before the Lily Barn. A gravel road that goes straight up the mountain. It is the last cabin at the end of the gravel road. There is only enough parking for 4-5 cars. So if people can carpool, do. If you have to drive, she said there is more than enough overflow parking at the Lily Barn. So we can shuttle people up and down the mountain once you arrive and drop off your stuff. Weather appears to be turning back in our favor... so keep your figures crossed out there guys. Looking forward to the big event. Your gonna be missed Rocky! We will have a toast in your honor. At least one, maybe two! Petey

Group Looking forward to this and meeting everyone. I'll be leaving the house at 8a hitting the license branch on the way down to become an official "transplant" res and then pit stop at LRO. Not gonna pay $80 for a non-res again, but if I have to, hey, you can't put a price on fly fishing East TN as I'm quickly finding out Drivin a red crew cab 4x4 F-150. Jay, call a spade a spade...you'll be in your silver jap p-up ! Flyboxes are full, leaders are tied, rods ready to be strung... mtb77

Ok Guys,, one other thing to think about. It may still be cold enought at night for a fire and I dont have alot of seasoned wood left with the exception of some Pecan wood and that gets burned in a smoker not a fire place ;D.So,,if you got any,,you might wanna bring a few sticks for the fire....
