Tell ya what Petey, pick ONE tune (post John Cougar), and if you will sing it, I'll play it. Maybe we can put a little "blood on the plow"

Why don't some of you boys throw out some ideas. We will let it float around for a few weeks then we will start putting together plans at a later date. Summer is too darn hot to do much of anything. So mid to late fall would be a good time. Well, just don't sit there, get to throwing! Petey

I don't care where we go as long as Riverman doesn't bring any rain with him. I think mid to late October would be a good time. As far as place goes...we ain't done the SoHo or Wautauga as a group yet.

I'm up for the SoHo/Watauga. It will be a while before I can commit to any dates, I may be going to Colorado to check out CSU sometime this fall.

Flick... you won't come back! Good luck with your college search. You might wanna go check out the University of Wyoming or Montana while you are out there. Keep us posted on what you are doing and where you are going. That way we all have somebody to shack up with when we go out west! LOL...

Is it almost that time again ?.......Sweet!.. ;D
Gotta go with Varmit on this one. I think mid to late October is perfect. Still bugs in the air, not to hot , not cold enough to put the fish down, less chance of rain than November/December, best overall camping weather, and a lot of DH's will be in full swing ;D
Oh well those are some of the positives,... Tentwing

Hey TW did you have any DH water in mind? Did a fall fling with the boys from Fly Fish South on the Watauga last fall. We had a blast, camping and fishing on the trophy section is a lot of fun. Campsites right on the water at the start of the trophy section, wading right out your back door. Petey

I make a motion that the forum STRONGLY consider a camping trip mid October along the Wautauga as long as we can set up camp with a common area for a festive time of sing-a-long to the old campfire bluegrass favorite......Gin-n-Juice!

I will be out of town until Oct 7th, So the weekends of the 14th&15th, 21st&22nd, and the 28th&29th all work best for me.
I've never been on the Wautaga or the SoHo , so they both sound great to me ;D

I will go ahead and throw my vote in for the 14th,15th of October. From the trophy section of the Watauga you can fish it, the SoHo, Beaverdam Creek, and several other small waters within the Cherokee Nat'l forest. The days will be warm enough to fish in shirtsleeves, and the evenings will be cool enough that a sweatshirt would be more than enough.

Here are a few pics of the last Watuaga trip taken with the boys from Fly Fish South. What is not seen here are the two awesome shoals in between this water. Both shoals, one right beside the campground and one that you can walk to from the campground are both good wading water. Depending on the flow TVA, we should have either the Watuaga or the So Ho at our disposal. As we get closer we will start finalizing all of the details. Petey
