As of right now it appears this years fling is going to be on the banks of the Watuaga on Oct. 13th, 14th & 15th. Starting this thing on Friday the 13th could be a bad omen from the get go! LOL.... Anyway, putting that aside, as things stand right now we are going to stay at River Ridge campground. It is a good central location for both rivers plus Varmit has already got some campsites set aside for our use if we are going to stay there. It is not the only place to stay though. If anybody has any other suggestions or ideas we would love to hear them. If not then we will go ahead and make reservations and start a sign-up. Petey

Petey; I'm kinda like you. Any suggestions I'm open for. I do have to admit that having never fished the SoHo or the Tauga that I'm pretty psyched about the idea of those locations. Varmit sent me a PM link to that campground and it looked "purty sweet" As for the old Friday the 13th deal,... well I caught the biggest trout of my life on Friday the 13th from the Norfork ,......so I might just have to go up a day early ;D .....................Tentwing

I have reserved one whole section of River Ridge with the stipulation that if the majority chooses otherwise, we can back out. The section reserved is section C which is the most remote of the campground. It is literally right on the Watauga and looks pretty good. The biggest reason I secured it is because of the season. With the leaves turning and all, I figured it would be easier to nab it now than try to piece it together later. I didn't have to post a deposit and if we find some other location all I have to do is call them. Here's the link to the campground for ya'll to check out. www.riverridgecampground.net/

River Ridge Campground is a very nice place to camp. I have stayed there several times and enjoy myself each time. Larry (the campground owner) is as nice a guy as you'll ever meet. A big plus is the campground has a bath house (hot showers), and they are usually as clean as you can reasonably expect in a campground. If I'm not mistaken, section "C" has around 8 or 9 campsites in that section, river front. It's also nice that there's 2 boat ramps wthin the campground too.
Larry does have a "no alcohol" rule, but I have been told if persons keep it low-profile (ei: beer in cups, not openly displaying, etc), that he wont say a thing as long as things dont get loud and unrulely. Larry tries to run a family-oriented place, which is good, keeps out the thugs and such.
Is this gathering by invitation only?

Darrin this gathering is open to all members of ETFFF and their family or friends. If you have the itchin to join us, scratch it. Now with that said there is only so much room, but we haven't had a problem with people crowding yet. The last get togher we had I think 13-14 people show. It was a good time by all. Petey

Petey, I have two more questions. When is the last day to sign up for the trip just in case I can squeeze it in. Also is the campsite is cool with the partaking of any kind of beverage? Thanks again!!!

Thanks again!!! Just one question, are you single? Just kidding....but no really? Hey guess what, I have a new job now and I get off early on weekdays, and no weekends. You know what that means, Bigga can make more trips this year. I have a lot of catching up to do for previous years so put me down for this one. Bigga...

Beverages are fine if they are in a cup and you don't get obnoxious.Larry won't say anything if you act decent. Leaves me out!

And wasent that nearly three years ago, that seems like a long time to me. Have not talked to Ghost in a long while, however I have been in direct contact with Bowtied (monte) Bigga...

Bigga; It has been over a year since I saw Razorback water. Rough for a guy who at one point in time used to make out there 3 to 5 times a year I would absolutely love to do a Fall Board trip out there Late October when the Browns are starting to run, and the big boys give up being nocturnal for a couple of months, and start trying to fatten up ;D That would be a sweet Fall Fling.
