Garmin GPS Map76cs plus.
This unit is loaded with features. It is the plus version and was only released through West Marine as it already has a lot of coastal markers in it's memory.
The unit has a color screen that is sunlight readable.
The 76csplus is waterproof and it floats as well, so it will work great in your wading vest or on your favorite lake or river.
IT also has an electronic compass meaning you'll get a perfect heading even when your not moving (as most gps units get their heading from the changing locations of the unit).
It also has a barometric altimeter, for accurate elevation readings. Want to know when you reach that special 3000 foot elevation for brookies, this unit will tell you.
It comes standard with 120MB of internal memory. Which is more than enough room to hold a lot of maps. (I currently have all of the rivers and mountain stream topos loaded into it, as well as all the driving maps From Atlanta to Louisville and Memphis to Asheville.
I'm also including my mapping software that has been unlocked for this unit. This software includes TOPO USA (East, West, and Alaska) and US City Select which is driving maps for the entire US. Both these programs retail for over $100 each)
The unit supports auto routing to your destination. You can just enter your destination and it will direct you to where you want to go with turn by turn instructions. You can chose destinations by address, personal waypoints, and even millions of pre programmed points of interest (places to eat, gas, shopping, attractions, goverment services, etc).
I also have a vehicle power cord that plugs into the lighter outlet and runs the unit without using the batteries. Which, by the way, takes two "AA" batteries and will run about 20 hours on battery power alone.
It also comes with a vehicle windshield mount. (Used and a little jimmy rigged. Using Velcro to attach the unit as opposed to the clamp hold that quit working)
The unit itself has been a killer unit. In fact, I've used the hell out of it! I've used it for blue lining brookies, and driving to Florida. Used it for exploring new waters, and used it to get me to a cold beer and a burger. Done some geocaching for fun and found my way out of a dense fog about two miles off the coast of Florida. IT's super functional and carries on the garmin tradition of hard working units that are easy to use.
The unit does show some use as it should with all the gps'ing I've done with it. However, .it's still got a lot of time left in it and is working great.
I'll be happy to send some pics if anybody is interested in taking a look at it first.
Also, I'll be happy to preload it with the requested maps and areas before I send it. OR just instruct you on the how too's
I'm asking $300 and I'll pay shipping
