I got out for a while on wensday and fished the DH. I got on the water at 10:30 and fished until about 2:30.
The fishing was great and I probably landed 30 fish or so. Includeing one 22'' rainbow. I was useing my 2wt super fine and didn't think I would ever land it. I had to fight it a lot longer than I like to, but I really wanted to land it,to get a picture. It took a while to revive it but finally I got it to swim out of my hands and head back upstream, looking healthy. The water was extremly low but the trout, being stockers, were not spooky. I fished right over a pod of probabaly 10 fish, knowing that they could see me just as clear as I was seeing them. I caught 6 of those fish, not one of them ever spooked. I felt kind of guilty.
It was my experiance that this years delayed harvest is head and shoulders above what we have had there in the past. Honestly, I have had some really good days on the Nanty, but none any better than I had right here on the Tellico on this day. I was impressed. If anything it was too easy. I was fishing, san juan worms, dead drifted wooly buggers, and prince nymphs with a SMBB dropper. I caught fish on everything but most of the fish, includeing the big one came on the worm. The olive bugger accounted for several also.
O well, I got it out of my system for now. Back to the wild fish for a while! ;D
O yeah, I did get a pic of the rainbow, but It was took with a film camera so I will have to get it developed and scaned so I can post it.
