Lately you guys have been tearin me up with your small stream reports , so when I had a day off today my first thought was to head to the closest water ( for me thats tail waters) Well about a half hour from the house I realized the gusting wind would put me out of business ,so I would have to hit a small stream so that the cover would block the wind. Well despite the fact that gas is $2.81 a gallon I decided to head for familiar territory.......
Or " Old Stomping Grounds" so to speak.................
I couldn't resist stopping to take in the scenery on my way........
After parking the truck realized that my rod that I had brought was meant for tail-watering, so I would have to use Miss Cheryl's small stream she had left in the truck. That meant I would be slinging graphite. After a small hike I began to hear the water . Then as I rounded the corner there she was..........
.....................
The last time I saw her I had to bust the ice on the bank in order to step down in her waters. Boy did the water look good today There were BIG (size #12) Gray caddis every where, but the fish weren't touching them However a size # 16 Soft hackle caddis emerger was just the ticket
This was the first of many. I had forgotten how pretty these little guys were, and how BIG they fight
.
.
This one was the last one..............( there were lots in between )
.
.
The scenery was great and the fishing was even better, and I didn't see another soul all day ;D Man I hate having a job ...................Tentwing
