I spent several hours on the HI today with Ty. IT was down right frigid. The high temperature never reached 32, but it wouldn't have mattered much anyway due to the razor sharp winds that were howling through the valley. Wind chill had to be near the teens. Burrrrrr! Fishing was OK with us both managing enough fish to keep us happy. We came across a ton of midging fish. We managed a few hookups on them, and I checked the stomach contents and found 1000's of size 32 or smaller midge pupas...It was a downright shame that my thread flies were at home...because these fish were all over these tiny, tiny midges. Stomach contents were all midges with about 80% in pupal form, 10% dun, and the other 10% were in betweens. I can say it was a good day on the water now that I've regained feeling in my left leg and fingers ! Rocky

Hey Rocky,
Had a great time! I may even get the feeling back in my fingers soon.
First time I've ever seen anyone pump the stomach contents of a feeding trout. Pretty amazing. Hard to believe that those fish were so focused on those midges. Those bugs were downright microscopic. Learned a lot from that.
Thanks again.
Ty
