Went out Friday again to goof about for a couple of hours for brown bass. I started lower and worked my way up to orvis cause someone was supposed to be there and I was gonna swing by and see whats up... but him being a slacker and all, I couldn't wait around forever ;D... anyhow, it was almost a wintry kind of day, so much for the 80 degree day we had earlier in the week....air was much cooler and the water was chilly too, but a downstream swing with slow retrieve brought several nice fish to hand. With the water slightly stained my usual goto fly didn't produce, but an all black version did. Normally I don't include definable backgrounds in my fish pic, but it was a fishy salute to my buddy who had to work instead of being able to come out to play. The beauty of that fish was I watched follow the swing of my streamer all the way from the far bank and then as I stripped it in, I paused the retrieve and watched the fly dip and then disappear as the fish sucked it up....just as cool as watching a trout sip a dry. It was the only fish I managed in that run, and as I looked up - a curious sight of the horse statue led me to dubb it the it the Lone Ranger hole...there's usually a ton of red eye and a few smallies there, but to day was just the one lone fin...
