Greetings all, Decided to head out to Abrams yestersday - mainly a matter of logistics as I had to meet the family at Dollywood around 5. I was on the water around 11and according to the digital therm the water was a boiling 43 degrees...but the fish were active enough and managed half a dozen nice fish working my way up from about 1/2 mile of the confluence. Most were in the slow sunlit spots as one would expect for this time of year. I made my way to the spring section and while the water was a toasty 51, the fish were all too active and on alert as I spooked more than i could count. There were some nicer fish in pods in the wide open sections midstream. Several were 14" and some of the pods had a dozen fish easily. Overall it was an excellent day as there wasn't another soul on the water... though sometimes the silence can be deafening - especially working that spring section - it gets eerie at times .....as though someone was always watching you....then when I heard the crunch behind me I had to turn my head to see my stalker - a bunch of does muching away not more that 10yards away...what a relief.... Anyhow, hope all has a Merry Christmas (or is that Merry Fishmas) and hope to see ya on the water in the New Year! Jermz
