I was lucky enough to fish with two guys this time rather than solo. Was a great trip minus the bear in our camp Friday night, but luckily I slept through it, only to be told the next morning...Yikes. It was one of the better, if not best trip I've ever had for backpacking and fishing. I made a short video too. s81.photobucket.com/albums/j234/wlodarb/?action=view¤t=gsmnp607.flv

Hey Lab.. That is good stuff right there. A couple of really sweet looking brookies too. I dig your video's everytime you post them. Keep them coming. The next time you need to get the bear in the video. Did he do any damage to camp? Petey

no just jingled the food cables from about 3:30am till 5am. It was huffing and puffing, and stomping the ground too. I think the drought has them searching harder than normal for food. Came across the unmistakable smell of a bear on the hike out too, but never saw the thing. I had the camera ready.

Great trip and nice work., dig those otters..l ike I said - guess I have to step out of my comfort zone in the "still" world and get some video under my belt...I don't even have a camcorder...I just use my phone for quick clips and stuff on my camera. What cam do you use? I have to get one hear eventually and start using some of the editing programs that are sitting around unused taking up memory on my hard drive....

I have a cannon SD600 (just a regular small digital camera), and I think it takes good pics and nice vids, but if I could get a new one I would get the newest fanciest Pentax Optio (totally waterproof) I could afford. I think they just came out with a newer one pretty recently. Mine requires me to have a bulky underwater case, well it's not that bulky, but the optio is much smaller cause it require no case. I had those programs sitting unused as well and figured why not. I really enjoy making them.

ok your karmas back. I seen some photos from optios and always been impressed. I am not sure what the newest one is called, but like I said it's out there. Not sure about the videos from them, but I imagine they are pretty good. Marmot have you used it for any?

I think the newest is the W30.. Not sure what the difference is but they are both 7 megapixels.. I think I read that the new ones are more waterproof.. Oh and it says in the manual that you haft to change the seal every year to maintain the waterproofness on these cameras... Its prob close to time for me to replace mine to be safe.. Gonna haft to look around and see where to get a seal at.. Prob from Pentax.. I haven't used the video at all Lab.. Will give it a try and let ya know..
