..... when fishing the remote edge of the map? There is not wrong answer.
I carry a Victorinox Cybertool most every where I go. It was bought to work on pc's at school. It's fixed reels, boats, tying vices, and lots of other stuff along the way. The bits are by some miraculous design right for probably 90% of the fastener I run into.
I also carry a Leatherman Wave on my belt. Pliers and great mid sized blades.
Those two get some back-up from time to time but go out regularly.
What's your blade choices?

Teachr; I have a leatherman in my fly vest as well as my Survival Kit. I almost always have Kershaw Blur in my pocket. I'm a fan of the quality of steel that Ken Onion uses for his knives. For when my wife makes me dress nice I carry a Boker ceramic. It is easy open and very light weight. Good thread,..............Tentwing

I have a leatherman in my bag, one in my car (aka the trout tank), one on my tying table.
I also carry a good whittlin knife AT ALL TIMES cause you just never know when the mood is gonna strike.

I used to carry a SOG power plier multi tool in my truck and it was carried on hikes and in the boat, but I gave it to my son recently to keep in his trunk in the dorm room. He told me has used it several times already . SOG makes a really nice multi tool. they are pricey but well made and smooth operating. just wish they had that cool little tweezer built in like my pocket swiss army knife does.... great for splinters.

SOG also make a really good survival kukri knife. Case and Tree Brand also still make replicas of the old Boy Scout knives. The utility of those Scout knives sometime gets over looked nowadays with Leather man or their equivalents everywhere. I have purchased and put back Boy Scout knives for all of my grandchildren for when their old enough to be responsible with them. T-Dub

Leatherman in my vest, a Swiss Army single blade half and half with a screw driver, flat head, and bottle opener in the boat (along with a filet knife, but who needs that ) and a Case knife in my pocket for every day use (expect for when boarding an airplane).

I have been off the web, for the most part in recent months. This thread caught my eye, because I like my knives. Since I usually do all my fishing and camping with my dog for company, I tend to carry several blades with me. When you are alone in the woods, things can go wrong real quick.
A good Gerber tucked on my pocket, a WWII era USN Mark 1, it drew Japanese blood in the Pacific, on my right side. It is a sweet piece with a deer horn handle (looks like the handle on bread pitts in Legends of the Fall) , and an antique Bowie on my belt in the back.
The Mark 1, aka my scalping knife, has a 6 inch blade. The antique Bowie has a 9 inch blade. I use the Bowie as a cleaver when butchering a deer. I keep all my knives honed sharp enough to shave with.

I personally use a Swiss Army Knives. You have a choice as far as what extras you would like to have besides two blades. I also like the Gerber brand of knives. I carried a Gerber Mark II when I was in the Army. Still have the knife.
