This is almost one of those Ginger or Mary Ann debates. These two are clearly the two most popular 22lr semi-autos , but with rumors of Marlin maybe calling it quits. I can't help but wonder has the Model 60 lost some of its followers? With it popularity in years past how would Remington even consider letting it or the 39a , or the 336 line end ? Anyway I own and love both rifles. Just wondering how some of you feel?

I have 2 of the Marlin semi- autos, and I do not own a 10-22 but I have shot one enough tho know that I think it is a much better gun. I it is so compact and handles very nice.
May favorite rifle that I own is a Ruger 10-77 bolt action .22mag. It is built with much the same feel as the 10-22 but it is a bolt action.

I like the semi-auto pistols from Ruger and Browning as much as the rifles. I have a 7-shot bolt action Marlin rifle and a Browning Buckmark .22 semi. I do not own the long gun semis, but have shot them. If you make me pick, I'll go Marlin.

I gotta be honest fellas . i am a lover of lever guns. Especially in the 22 cal variety. However when it comes to semi auto 22's I was raised on the Glenfield version of a Marlin model #60. I got it for Christmas when I was 11 years old and it has served me well. I not only lasted my youth , but survived 3 children, and who knows i may even teach my grand-kids with that is if I last long enough . Some people don't care for the tube mags, on the 60's, but it can 18 plus 1. ;D All this being said I also have a Ruger 10/22 which has been serving me well for a few years now with no issues. Both rifles seem to be fairly with good groups coming from plain bulk Federal 22lr ammo.

I have a 10-22 and like it pretty well. It has a huge selection of aftermarket parts. Everything from barrels, stocks and clips to a machine gun conversion kit. Plus it is a pretty well built rifle. That federal ammo definitely lacks in grouping consistency as well as firing consistency, but its cheap. Plink 500 rounds away for 15 bucks or so. Marmot

Marmot; Federal makes an "Auto-match ammo " now in a bulk pack 325 rounds for $13 or so at Wally world. It seems to be pretty good ammo and groups with more consistancy than any other bulk ammo that I have found. For that matter it does better than any 22lr that I have used except for the high end sub-sonic target match rounds. It does not come in a copper jacket variety so you have to watch for wax build up. I have not noticed any but then I'm a bit of a clean freak when it comes to my rifles. Tentwing

I have a Marlin 7 shot bolt action and a Buckmark pistol. I recall emptying my cousins tube feed remington as a kid and later my buddy's Mark I Ruger on every can I could find. Hard to pick a favorite and glad I don't have to. Love 'em all!
