Maybe I'm the only adult that still likes to hunt squirrels. I really enjoy it. They are good fried and have great fur for tying flies.
I use to use a single 410. Took the 12 last year a couple of time and did well. My question is what do those of you that hunt squirrels use?

Tec; Love squirrel hunting. I probably like just sitting in the wood quietly and waiting for the woods to come alive with critters If you get a chance try using a package of McCormick chicken seasoning( taste almost identical to the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices ) and frying up some squirrel. i think you'll be surprised. I have to admit I haven't ever shot a squirrel with a shotgun I chased them most of my life with a Marlin 60 22lr or a 39a. The past few years I have discovered a new toy I now find myself walking into the wood with a 17HMR in the form of a Henry lever action. It is a very flat shooting round, very fast . (2990fps at the muzzle ) The squirrel's head just explodes. The underbelly of fox squirrels is the only dubbing on a Red fox squirrel nymph. The back and rib flank of a Pine Squirrel is better than rabbit zonker to me. It is just as soft and much stronger, and I don't own a Hair's mask all of my hair's ear nymphs have always be tied with plain ole everyday Gray squirrel. Still I go for the quiet time in the woods. Using as much of the squirrel as possible just makes it better for me. What i really look forward to is teaching my grandsons how to enjoy quiet time in the woods and hunt in the coming years, and I'm am certain that Squirrel will be their first Big Game Hunt . .........Tentwing
