After a hectic weekend I was able to break free Saturday evening and go hang out with some old friends up in Elkmont. Jay had been camped out there since Thursday, Richard went up Friday, Marmot went up Saturday AM and I showed up at dark. I was OK with that, anytime you can get around a campfire with friends and share in life's adventures, all is good. Sunday, Marmot and I took off together and headed up Little River above Elkmont. We hiked 2.5 miles up stream before getting in and fishing. Passed nice holes, passed some beautiful runs and passed some nice fish. I had never fished that far upstream before and was wanting to get away for an afternoon. I found exactly what I had came for. Solitude. I spent the day fishing my redneck prince and other assorted patterns. I caught some, lost some and straight out whiffed on some. It had been awhile since Marmot and me had taken off on a hike like that and got away for the day. It had probably been a couple of years unfortunately but we made up for it with a good hike in and out. TW, I know you wanted pics and I went off and forgot my camera. If Jay shows up he might be able to post a couple of those browns he caught. For me all I got were a couple of not so good photos on my blackberry. I doctored them the best I could so there they are.
