Hi all, just joined on here out of interest into what's going on in the fly fishing scene in East TN these days. I am a native Oak Ridger, currently living in Christchurch, New Zealand. Got really into fly fishing when I moved here about 6 years ago and have caught a few decent trout over the past few seasons. Will be visiting East TN in late July this year for 5 weeks and already chomping at the bit to do some "warm water" fly fishing. Will likely be asking for some advice here soon Thanks guys!

New Zealand? Wow... If you are fishing there I was sure you are spoiled. If you are coming in July, small mouth bite should be pretty good in some of our warmer rivers. Let us know when you start rolling this way and some of the warm water guys can point you in the right direction. Petey

Thanks Petey. Trout fishing here is pretty d**n good, but it took me a while to get up the learning curve! Extremely clear water and sight fishing to big, well-educated browns is the norm. Probably a little bit spoiled to be honest, most Kiwis don't realize how good they have it here I do however genuinely miss the opportunity to fish for all of the varied species we have back in TN and am looking forward to getting into it later this year!
