I am looking at selling my drifter.... after much thought, worry, wondering, and in general... stubbornness I have decided to put the boat on the market. I have plans of actually listing within the next week. Need to get some quality photos and put write up together. I am looking at buying a cabin cruiser for the family... but this doesn't mean I am stepping away from fly fishing. How could I ever. Just dialing back a bit. One of the reasons the drifter is difficult to own is due to the fact it is not exactly easy for one man to fish and operate the boat. So I have started to look at other avenues.. one thing I have found that really peaks my interest is this.... vimeo.com/46625526cksblog.com/2013/05/the-badfish-stand-up-paddle-badfisher-review/Do any of you guys have experience using this type of board? At one time I thought fishing yak or one man toon. Now I am thinking this maybe the ticket. It can handle a variety of water and you can freaking stand on this thing and cast. Petey

Becker has one and loves it. Don't know how well it would do in a significant current but for still water it would work well I would think.

Looks like it would be a blast. Especially in shorts weather and calm water. Looks like the portabilty factor would be through the roof too. I gotta go with Varmit on the issue of current though. I imagine that your dry factor would go way down even if you manage to not fall off the thing. Lets us know what you find out,......TW

Those are some good ideas. I have access to a fishing yak any time I want to use it. I will probably take advantage of it as we get closer into fall. I happened upon a guy here at work that does IT work for us that is going to build a 14' SUP Board. It will be fiberglass and wood and wonderful for the open water of the lake. I am transcribing his plans into CAD so he can produce full size templates from which to cut from. Depending on how his turns out I may just build my own.

I have a one man pontoon you are welcome to use whenever you want. It's actually fairly nice and rows well.
