Not to be a downer...but where are we camping and where are you planning to fish the park in November? Pretty limited fishing unless everyone does Abrams.

Elkmont campground and Smokemont campgrounds are both open year round. If we stay at Smokemont then the Oconaluftee, the Ravens Fork, The Nantahala, and the Tuckaseegee are all 30 minutes or less away. On the Elkmont side of the park there is Abrams, the Little River, and probably more that I have no experience in.

Then I would say go N.C...Camping in Elkmont and trying to get to Ravens Fork could be rough because of weather.

Gary, I am not locked in. I am doing the Play by Play for Maryville football on the radio and we will be in playoff mode by then. Not sure what my schedule looks like yet.
I think a DH weekend would have been a better choice. Very hard fishing in the park in November.

I doubt I will be able to get out that weekend. This is the first anniversary of my stepfathers passing along with my mothers birthday. One occurred on Nov. 4th and the other Nov. 5th. So, I have a feeling I will need to be around. If it works out and I can get away, I will let you guys know.

Gary, Why don't you see what is open over on the NC side of the park. That way, if the park itself is still closed, we will be closer to fishable water. Trust me, fly fishing in the Smokies by November is not going to be easy. Ravens Fork, Oconaluftee, Tuck, Nan. I just think that would be the better choice.

Marc; I'm good with whatever the group wants to do ? I was just following the popular vote. Personally I lobbied for the Hi. Just because it was big water with special regs, and it had the Tellico DH and the North river just over the hill from it. It looks like right now that You , me and Derrick are the only ones with a hat in the ring, so I say you two post your suggestion for the place you like best and we will roll with it , cause I'm good with any where. We can even change over to a cabin instead of camping if you want to. I just need some on the water time TW

Gary, I'm game for whatever. We could even do a day trip somewhere if that would attract more people or just wait until spring. I don't mind at all.
