Pearl; Glad to have you here. I you drive a little ways east on I-40 the Caney Fork fishes well. If you can get the Corp of Engineers to cut back on the generation Zebra midges usually do well there in #16's and smaller. I have heard that during cool weather they put trout in the Stones river in the park, but I have never been there so I don't know much more than that. I have also heard that there is some stocking right below J Percy Priest, but as i understand it it is marginal at best. There is a Fly shop in Nashville called Fly South. I think it is on Demonbruen Street. They might have some helpful info too. Hope you enjoy your time here. Maybe someone from you side of TN will chime in also. We have a few board members from out your direction hope this helps,...............Tentwing

I have done a fair amount of fishing at percy/stones and when the water is being released from the spillover with no generation it is actually enjoyable, lots of trout that made it past the powerbaiters and medium size hybrid bass.I fished the Elk river a while back with no success.Ill check the obey out now,Ive looked into the caney but its size and the whole generation wave taking 2 hours to reach me kinda scares me though haha. Thanks for the ideas guys.

Also try the Duck below Normandy. Good wading can be had around Cortner (sp?) mill.

Hey, I'm also new to Nashville and to fly fishing. I'm originally from Michigan where I've done every other type of fishing (charter boat, river, dam, ice, etc.) except for fly fishing. If you are looking to go anytime soon, I'd be more than thrilled to tag along.
